Inspired by an article on Babble called, Judging a Book by Its Cover: A 6-year-old Guesses What Classic Novels Are All About, I have asked my 5 year old what his thoughts are on a few Young Adult covers lying around the house. To take it a step further, I also had him make some cover art!
This week Shawn took a look at some recent fall releases!
"I think it's about an island with some people playing some games. One game is some puzzles, another game is volleyball, and another game is baseball."
Cover Art:
"I think it is about a storm that has lightning apples. The lightning apples drop leaves when they fall off the lightning."
Cover Art:
I love how he said Ten was about a game on an island! Not too far off in a way. And the lightning apples made me laugh! I hope you enjoyed Shawn's thoughts and artwork this week. Let me (and Shawn) know what you think! :)

The six year old was so adorable as well as your five year old. lol about The Color Purple. I can see where she got the Zebra from Fifty Shades of Grey. That mother must be doing something right if her kid knows about and likes greek mythology.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where Shawn got games from an island. I wonder what I would have thought at his age? Maybe a jungle with friendly animals? LOVE the lightning apples! I would so read a book about that (:
